The Wooden Bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in- law, and four-year-old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in- law became irritated with the mess. 'We must do something about father,' said the son. 'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.' So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?'
Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.” The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled

Children are remarkably perceptive. Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb. If they see us patiently provide a happy home atmosphere for family members, they will imitate that attitude for the rest of their lives. The wise parent realizes that every day the building blocks are being laid for the child's future. Let's be wise builders and role models.

Avalon & The $50

The music was kind of ok (6/10) an the entrance fee cost $20. It was a good environment to club and the vibe (7/10) was average. But we left the place 0230. I don't know is it simply not in the mood to club or the place simply not meant for us. But the performance of solo dancer was not bad, ready to show the crowd. But I like the photo booth sponsor by Carlsberg where they you took a snapshot our friend and simply send via e-mail.

The $50 Dollar

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'

The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.

'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.

'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.

The Art Of Stereotype

I am glad I am able to host and thanks to Luke (Supervisor), Suffian (Logistic Distributor), Alan and Kumar (Taking Photo) plus David, (projectile voice) to the Coffee Session. Is been interesting but I kind of disappointing as what my intention from plan to revel to the discussion fully not pass the message as what it seem to be. But neverthless, many have tell that the session is ok plus just need a little control of overwhelming crowd.

There are about 30 plus people attend and curious the feeling of begin label from other and why it is human tendency to label. Is it an easier to identify? Or amuse/ teasing? Starting a gossip? Or due to prior knowledge/ experience.

But the group have sense of what begin label or begin stereotype from other so that as a experience, it tent to think before stereotype other and not be narrow but rather open minded.

But the con, I truly regret and my apology if anyone got bad experience or offended in one of my activity. As some got criticize, kind of bad which I did not expected to see it. But I am glad that with the negative source, many happy with the positive source. As each group say good thing toward the person by written down in the card. Well I hope it make the group close bonding, through a thrill experience and better understanding on how to react in the future if someone stereotype you. That I do not wanna see my brother and sister lose their peer or self esteem. I am glad Wilsen voice out and share with the group that you just simply IGNORE them.

Also I hope they do not label other or have maturity and wisdom before making a decision. But I think everyone enjoy it and I kind of panic as I did not expect to reach 30 as I only expected 18 to 20 people. Each time, a person join the session the circle simply go bigger and bigger and bigger...

But Anyway the conclusion is:

Before You Assume, Learn The Facts.
Before You Judge, Understand Why.
Before You Hurt Someone, Feel
Lastly, Before You Speak, Think.

I Can't Believe I Bought Your Word...

I don't believe in fortune telling nor palm reading. Recent someone do my palm reading and what she told me past kind of accurate. Well we are just friend but not too close to know me that well.

She could even tell that where my birthmark is, the mole in which part of my body and could tell something that I might be very surprise or shock.

But this is what she told me:

You can be a savior or destroyer.
You do help people but sometime when you see it does not benefit, you just abandon it.

I'm sorry my
Dear, you can love someone whole heartily but you will never receive another person love whole heartily.

I felt uncomfortable and I took her word seriously or is it a psychology mind factor that if the person might be correct all the way, but is the current one necessary to be right too.

Anyway she told me and make me promise that, 'It is you who control the destiny. I Do NOT want you to believe it'

But until now I just felt that what ever she say is true and I just simply can't believe I bought her word. Because the way she read is indeed similar my life style

But the one thing funny that people say I look gorgeous (Pls Pls I'm not tryin to self praise... :) ) But they don't believe or asking why I'm not into relationship.

Sometime I might be the victim of low peer pressure or esteem. But I simply tell them that the time have not come yet ...

The Blind Boy

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: ' I am blind, please help.'
There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was: ' Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it. '

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so blessed that they were not blind and can see beautiful things. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Be thankful for what you have. Think differently and positively.
Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets.
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile.
Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.
The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
And even more beautiful knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!
Catch yourself when you start complaining about what you don't have.
Remember, where there is life, there is hope.

Esplanade Square

Went to Marina Square with Hassan & Wilsen which they just finish their KTV. I'm impress of the money that they spend on is very wise and money saver indeed. They told me that they went to makan Nasi Ayam, in high quality but low cost about $3 only.

Later my dearest friend met at Marina Square and head off to Esplanade Roof Terrace (Rooftop Garden). They always ask me a game so we play all the game categorize as Riddle Puzzle Game. Those who found out the answer play along with it as making other friend annoy. Which they know the secret answer an still don't get it.

We played: Snap Snap Whose Picture Did I Take?, Allow & Not Allow, Where Do I Go Next and lastly, Open Close.

Went to played bowling and indeed is been sometime I went there. I get to meet new people and disturb afew people.

I am glad to meet Merf as he look like Malay but be is not. I'm honor to meet him. Love Ezekiel bowl, The Big Bang I would called. love Terence style of bowling as kind of smooth.

We played two game and overall I plays not bad. :D

The Liquor Phobia (Dipsophobia)

Recently over the weekend, went from club hopping to party like endlessly. Shot after shot, house pour mix after drag. Not long the liquor took over your body into like a hibernating mood. I and Har went to meet Shay and her friends. We meet up and walk over for the liquor buffet. Simply paid $25 and you could drink as much as you want from 10pm all the way to the stroke of midnight.

Finally is been long that I met my friend, Kim. Miss her group of friend whereas I remember I party with them before.

But I just simply glad I met them. We chatted and get back to the past, in those old day. Plus one of them, their birthday is close.

But I have no idea what came over me, but I drank like no body business. Maybe is the happy mood. All is it the kiasuness. I have no idea but the most I drank is about 17 house pour mix. But the liquor have not kick in, as they kick in later.

We went off to another club, to meet our dearest friend and continue party. Coming in before 10pm, there is a limit up to 100 free entry and we were the lucky one. Therefore they will shock and surprise and is my first time seeing a decent Indon boy got so high and start to dream in a La-La Land. Haha... Maybe I am a bad influence.

I suppose to dance but I was begin to hibernating mode. Is like you play your music through laptop but the screen start to hibernate mode. I was closing my eyes but still able to hear your voice. AKA Cocktail Mode.

But I ended up going toilet or exit at the back of the club, as my body reject the excessive liquor in my body and leave it in dehydration mode.

But on Saturday, I am itchy again as I still need to club as some of my friend request. We went to Clark Quay, Zirca. It was a nice night as able to dance my mood off. It was a happening night where I met my old friend plus it was a funny night. As I grant Spidy wish that she wanted to hang out in those old night with my dearest friend, Wabul. But it is funny as I was dancing well on that night. Haha I realize it must be my dancing shoe...

The 4 Seasons

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said, “no – it was covered with green buds and full of promise”. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree’s life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don’t judge life by one difficult season. Persevere through the difficult patches and better times are sure to come some time or later.

Movie, Clubbing, Pub

It have been a simply hectic week recently. There are so many thing to do but thanks god there are so many events I have been invited. Is like work hard and play hard. But I just need to be careful making sure I did not clash any of the event and obey my schedule date. I have disobey one already that is this Saturday as my dearest friend birthday is still on. Is been long since I last saw her.

I went Holland V for dinner than head down to Marina Square just to watch them bowl. It is so many as each got their own tactic but I am sure everyone had fun. But many do ask me, "How come I reach Marina Square from Holland V so fast?" Haha, is all about the route.
You should try Acid Bar just opposite 313@Somerset. I forgot when it is but the ambiance is nice but the background music is too loud. As result everybody have to be their own conversation as result I saw some left out the conversation. Music not bad as they got band during the weekdays.

After hang out at Starbuck Suntec City on the Friday night. My dear friend, Suffian recently host the theme, Dn't Judge The Book By It Covers. I realize Singaporean society sometime can be really narrow minded and those who are bias and stereotype should attend his course. :P Hahaha. But it was fun and good layout of activity plan. We head off to Illuma, Bugis to watch a movie. Watch Dark Shadow.

On Saturday night, we were at Vivo City. I had some Korean dinner at Vivo City Skypark. And Wilsen did a candie shot. After that we head to IntroBar and played some game. After that head toward the 70th floor for New Asia Bar at Swissotel. It was a nice ambiance but is not meant for us. Music played is not meant for local cultural. My phone flat and after charge my phone Jess whatapps me.

What is the best thing that we club on weekend to end the week. At Zirca. HAha but I ended up not going school for 2 days...

Anyway Har went back to his hometown hope he had a safe journey back to Indonesia. But is also good as his work is just beside his home plus is begin paid in SGD.

Peace Of My Mind

Finally everything is over. The paperwork, document and self study for six sigma was kind of interesting. As a reward, a group of my friends make my day in Bugis. I felt relax Abe my mind is clear. Tomorrow is gonna be an interesting day because there is a lab, and is more to Eddy Current testing. I always wanna see how that material defect test on that instrument.

Six Sigma and I think the first time I perform was kind of good and did not expect to be an interesting module.

The One Theory

I love study Psychology combination of Psychiatrist as part of my free time to study. But thanks to my friend who share what they been through, with the power of knowledge plus observation and experience. It took sometime for me to think and I think I wanna call it:

The One Theory

The ones who are the strongest are the most sensitive.
The ones who are the kindest are the most hurt.
The ones who act like they least need love need it the most.
The ones who care most about everyone need taken care of most.
The ones who smile the widest are the ones who shed the most tears.

Now I realize that some share with me their behind close door scene, their trouble, their worries, unhappiness and slashing themselves. But in surface they are such a beloved, nice, sweet people.

Heavenly father, I am such a blessed child that you show me these wonderful friends.

The Simplicity

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the purpose of showing his son how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from the trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad”.

“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.

“Oh yes”, said the son.
“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered:
“I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
“We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden and they have a creek that has no end.
“We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
“Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
“We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
“We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
“We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.”
“We have encyclopedias, they have Bible.”

The boy’s father was shocked. Then his son added:

“Thanks, Dad for showing me how poor we are.”

MORAL LESSON: It's not about money that make us rich... it's about simplicity of having God in our lives.

The Bar Experiment

The Last Word, that is the game that we played and if you lose, it lead to three sensitive question that would turn your face red. We had so much fun, laughter and loud plus educational also. I think everyone in the Bar would know who we are. :p

We at Introbar at Swissotel. The best part is when you buy a drink, you can get into New Asia Bar for free that is save your 25 buck. We gonna do that on next Saturday.

The Non-Destructive Test Application

In the engineer world, factors have to be considered, calculation and material advantages such as high strength to weight ratio and materiel yield strength and flaw have to be also reconsider. Also sometime inspection have to go round about and material is very critical and important in the engineer world. It may look perfect and flawless but there is a crack. A crack that is develop but the size is so small that we need to do NDT (Non-Destructive Test).

Same thing as a group of friend, investigate and understand the natural flaws behaviors in the socialism society. I always believe in the win-win situation but knowing the problem but fixing it is not an easy task. Have you ever wonder why they call it NDT? They simply do not want to destroy the material or add flaw to the material as result that is a fake evident. As engineer would think that is a part of the natural flaw which actually the fact that they create it (man-made flaw).

Recently at weekend, I have spend part of my time to these wonderful people. We gather, drink coffee and share experience in part and parcel of life. These people are always jovial and like to joke. But I love to observe how they give suggestion or opinion to fix other people that come to the obstacle problem. Jess is cute an innocent, because is like a child come and asking why is my cultural like that or why people do this... But I hope no one do this and I am scared of one thing only:

Assumption.

Where is the source come from?
Is it reliable?
Or based on your prior knowledge?
Have you clarify?
How you purchase your evident? (Visual, Third Parties Verbal, Forum)

Well that is what my course all about because it risking people life. And I guess my school have change my mentality thoughts. But in conclusion, I am glad what they did so far based on your action in their best knowledge is so far so good.

After meeting them, we went off to parties throughout the whole night... And it was an awesome night indeed. Btw, can anyone tell me what is Fort Road & Bedok Stadium?! That would be your homework and submit to me by beginning of weekday...

Btw this is just my opinion and idea that all. No offend to anyone :)

Cracked Water Pot

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on one end of the pole he carried across the back of his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream, the cracked pot arrived only half full. This went on every day for two years, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots of water to his master’s house.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishment and saw itself as perfectly suited for the purpose for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its imperfection and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived as bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself and I want to apologize to you.”
“Why?” asked the bearer. “What are you ashamed of?”
“For the past two years, I have been able to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master’s house. Because of my flaws you have to work without getting the full value of your efforts,” the pot said.
The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and out of compassion he said, “As we return to the master’s house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.” Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the wildflowers on the side of the path. The pot felt cheered.
But at the end of the trail, the pot still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and again it apologized for its failure. The bearer said to the pot, “Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I knew about your flaw and took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you’ve watered them for me. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master’s table. If you were not just the way you are, he would not have such beauty to grace his house.
Moral: Each of us has our unique flaws—we’re all cracked pots. But a compassionate and expert devotee can engage us in the Lord’s service, and then we can be useful, despite our defects.
