The Final Exam

This might be the last paper I take in my entire school life.
This might be the last time I ever see my school mate in the whole cohort.
This might be the last time I ever see the lecture.
Also this might be the last time to ever try the school food.

Finally the last exam is here. It is kind of mix feeling or mix emotion. I woke up at 1000 and again revise and revise the recommended topic. Now blogging just to take a break. I cant wait for the street soccer tomorrow and I am glad to plan it well. Well now more than 2.5 hours the exam begin. I just wanna focus now and celebration tomorrow.

I hope my pay is coming today or else I am in deep shit. The first thing I got my pay is buy the stupid camera charger. I miss my camera and is been dead flat battery for a long time... :(

Progression Stage

  • My iPhone have been malfunction. Repair in progress...
  • My camera cable is lost. Saving fund in progress...
  • My Mum birthday is coming soon. Planning in progress...
  • My Exam is next week. Revision is in progress...

This are the thing is in my mind now. I realize that is a good thing that I lost. Recent blog post, there is no easy access to upload picture, remind me of those day of my blog post. I wanna people to imagine what I been through in their imaginative mind. Anyway if my iPhone did not malfunction, I would distract as result affect my studies. Also my schedule keep me busy, tire me out, as result force me to have rest. A better rest indeed. I think I have clear my sleeping debt. Anyway, Saturday, I wanna study, study and study. Sunday I wanna go church which been a long time. And visit my sister birthday in some Thai club that my mum gonna bring her. Recently, I desire for new spice or adventure. But instead I take thing for granted as actually my life is happening. Is just that I tend to ask for more...

Suspicious Or Superstitious

I dont know what happen to be. I am a little confuse and I know I am a scietific person. I do not believe in luck or not really into those superstitious stuff such as luck and so on. I believe thing happen for a reason. My mum help me $20 and after I bought my self a cup of coffee from the coffee shop (80 cents) and top up my Ez Link Card for transportation ($10) I lost $7. If you did read my ealier post, Bad Luck Incident recently lost my whole damn wallet plus droping my iPhone as result malfunction. All this are cost factor, luckily I am working part time. Imagine what happen I am jobless and how am I gonna recover those loses?

I suspect is the jade. Yes, it might sound irratioanal and I becoming those Uncle or Aunty that believe in those supersicious luck. But is been a week and the half and nothing good came out.

I took out my religion medal, Crucification cross as I am a catholic, I believe this thing help me and protect me as a resist temptation. But recently it came out and lost.

I have no idea, but I think those in my shoe, have you ever wonder why bad thing happen to you all sudden with no valid reason. Is it really luck or co-incident. I dont know but what do you think? Am I begin suspicious and thinkig and assuming too much spectulation or being too superstitious and cling on the object and expect  benifit of luck out of it? I dont know but I am confuse and still gonna stick to not begin superstitious nor suspicious in those thing. Let try another week or two and, if this thing happen again than I am so confuse I would not know what to say.

The Fat Lady

Hi! How are you?” The woman smiled as she took the seat beside me. She had to lower herself slowly, squeezing her ample bottom into the seat, filling all available space.

Positioning herself comfortably, she plopped her enormous arm on our common armrest. Her immensity saturated the space around us, shrinking me and my seat into insignificance.

I cringed and reclined towards the window.

She leaned towards me and repeated her greeting in an upbeat, friendly voice. Her face towered above my head, forcing me to turn to look at her. “Hi,” I replied with obvious loathing.

I turned away to stare out the cabin window, sulking silently about the long hours of discomfort I was going to experience with this monster beside me.

She nudged me with her meaty arm. “My name is Laura. I’m from Britain. How about you? Japan?”

“Malaysia,” I barked.

“I’m so sorry! Will you accept my heartfelt apology? Come, shake my hand. If we’re going to spend six hours side-by-side on this flight, we’d better be friends, don’t you think?” A palm waved in front of my face. I shook the hand reluctantly, still silent.

Laura started a conversation with me, taking no notice of my unfriendly reactions. She talked excitedly about herself and her trip to Hong Kong to see her frinds. She rattled off a list of things she was going to buy for her students in the boarding school where she was teaching.

I gave her one-word answers to her questions about me. Unperturbed by my coldness, she nodded as she made appreciative comments to my answers. Her voice was warm and caring. She was considerate and obliging when we were served drinks and meals, making sure that I had room to manoeuvre in my seat. “I don’t want to clobber you with my elephant size!” she said with utmost sincerity.

To my surprise, her face which repulsed me hours before, now opened into extraordinary smiles, lively and calm at the same time. I couldn’t help but let down my guard slowly.

Laura was an interesting conversationalist. She was well read in many subjects from philosophy to science. She turned a seemingly unimportant subject into something to explore and understand. Her comments were humorous and inspirational. When our topic turned to cultures, I was pleasantly surprised by her intelligent comments and well-thought-out analysis.

During our conversation, Laura managed to make every cabin crew who served us walk away laughing at her jokes.

When a flight attendant was clearing our plates, Laura cracked several jokes about her size. The flight attendant roared with laughter as she grabbed Laura’s hand, “You really make my day!”

For the next few minutes, Laura listened attentively and gave pointers to the flight attendant’s weight problem. The grateful attendant said before she rushed off, “I’ve got to work. I’ll come back later and talk to you about it.”

I asked Laura, “‘Have you ever thought about losing some weight?”

“No. I’ve worked hard to get this way. Why would I want to give it up?”

“You aren’t worried about cardiovascular diseases that come with being overweight?”

“Not at all. You only get the diseases if you’re worried about your weight all the time. You see advertisements from slimming centres that say, ‘Liberate yourself from your extra baggage so that you are free to be yourself.’ It’s rubbish! You’re liberated only if you’re comfortable about who you are, and what you look like any time of the day and anytime of the year! Why would I want to waste my time on slimming regimes when I have so many other important things to do and so many people to be friends with? I eat healthily and walk regularly; I’m this size because I am born to be big! There is more to life than worrying about weight all day long.”

She sipped at her wine. “Besides, God gives me so much happiness that I need a bigger body to hold all of it! Why would I lose weight to lose my happiness?” Taken aback by her reasoning, I chuckled.

Laura continued. “Folks often see me as a fat lady with big bosoms, big thighs and a big bottom that no man would even bother to cast a glance at. They see me as a slob. They think I’m lazy and have no willpower. They’re wrong.” She held up her glass to a passing flight attendant. “More of this magnificent wine, please.” She smiled sweetly at the attendant. “Great service from your crew. May God bless all of you.”

She turned to me, “I’m actually a slim person inside. I’m so full of energy that people won’t be able to keep up with me. This extra flesh is here to slow me down, otherwise I’ll be running everywhere chasing after men!”

“Do men chase after you?” I asked jokingly.

“Of course they do. I’m happily married but men still keep proposing to me.

“Most of them have relationship problems and they need someone to confide in. For some reason, they like to talk to me. I think I should have been a counsellor instead of a school teacher!”

Laura paused before she said thoughtfully, “You know, the relationship between men and women is so complicated. Women worship men and call them, ‘Honey’ until they find out they have been lied to, and then they turn into bitter gourds! Men love women so much that they see them as their soul mates until they look at their credit card bills, and then women become devils with tridents!”

Laura’s enthralling conversation had turned the flight into something thoroughly enjoyable. I was also fascinated by the way people were drawn to her. By the end of the flight, almost half the cabin crew was standing near the aisle by us, laughing and joking with Laura. The passengers around us joined in the merry-making too. Laura was the centre of attention, filling the cabin with delightful warmth.

When we waved goodbye to each other at the arrival lounge at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport, I watched her walking towards a big group of adoring adults and kids. Cheers sounded as the group hugged and kissed Laura. She turned around and winked at me.

I was stunned, as the realisation set in: Laura was the most beautiful woman I had ever met in my life.

Last Day, Take Your Moment

Yesterday is the last day of school. I just realize that is the:

Last time you gonna see your classmate,
Last time you gonna see your classroom and the hangar,
Last time you gonna see your facilitator that given you guardian,
Last time you gonna miss the laughter and begin tease each other.

Well right now that is in the past. The present is more to exam talk and guardian. Is now time to be serious as I realize exam starting on next Tuesday. Is like not more than a week. I need to prepare and commit.

To Let Go...

To let go does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, it’s the realization that I can’t control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another, it’s to make the most of myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own destinies.

To let go is not to be protective, it’s to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to criticize, or regulate anyone, but to try to become what I dream I can do.

To let go is to fear less, and to love more.

Bad Luck Incident

The final year project have finish but it is just a beginning. There is UT3, my job, and a job attachment for another 6 months. Not sure if it good idea to work on my job attachment plus a part time. The pay is good as double hard-work equals to double pay. But I need to work the job attachment and see the situation. Is the work burden heavy?, Is the venue efficient to travel to my next job?, The job hours? All this determine the factor to decide is it worth to work 2 job that give me a good output?.

Well the long weekend have came and Har just visit Singapore. ut not my luck as my iPhone malfunction and I have lost my wallet. Great! I am trying to be positive as believe that incident is a blessing as a disguise. Jess and Spidy came to fetch me, went to have frog porridge at Geylang. It was first time and it was nice.

My Mom Only Had One Eye

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, ‘EEEE, your mom only has one eye!’

I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I confronted her that day and said, ‘ If you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?’

My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.

Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, ‘How dare you come to my house and scare my children!’ GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!’

And to this, my mother quietly answered, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,’ and she disappeared out of sight.

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

‘My dearest son,

I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children.

I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gave you mine.

I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,

Your mother.’

Pamper Child!

Is been so long since I updated my blog, it was because I was enjoying my holiday. Indeed it was a long holiday after I skip a sch right after National Day that is fall on Friday. On wednesday, before the public holiday, after my Final Year Project I went to pamper myself at TCC at Bugis after applying Diner Membership card. It was Apple Salmon Salad. The best thing is I am having diarrhea and yet tried raw salmon.

Well sometime when you pamper yourself in the way, I guess you have to pay the price.

Finally a class outing in my course (DAE, Diploma In Aerospace Engineering) and they were in Arab street, Sultan Mosque to break their fast. Is been long since I visit there and the place was kind of different during Ramandan. Well I wanted to shopping but is ok just accompany my classmate. After the head down to Orchard to shopping for jeans.

But I was annoyed as I left my iPhone charger in the lab and forgot to ask one of my classmate. Also I remembered that I need to buy my Samsung Charger which is ridiculous of the price of $50.00 Oh well is I either have to research more and not begin lazy to find a cheap pirate charger or begin lazy paying the price more.

I salute my friend, Spidy as she attend the Awareness of Children cancer by scracifice their hair. Yup, that is going bald. Not many people dare to do that but how far you willing to go to be out of your comfort zone to show the community in community service or awareness event to do these action?

Keep Your Dream

I have a friend named Monty Roberts who owns a horse ranch in San Ysidro. He has let me use his house to put on fund-raising events to raise money for youth at risk programs.

The last time I was there he introduced me by saying, “I want to tell you why I let Jack use my horse. It all goes back to a story about a young man who was the son of an itinerant horse trainer who would go from stable to stable, race track to race track, farm to farm and ranch to ranch, training horses. As a result, the boy’s high school career was continually interrupted. When he was a senior, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when he grew up.

“That night he wrote a seven-page paper describing his goal of someday owning a horse ranch. He wrote about his dream in great detail and he even drew a diagram of a 200-acre ranch, showing the location of all the buildings, the stables and the track. Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a 4,000-square-foot house that would sit on a 200-acre dream ranch.

“He put a great deal of his heart into the project and the next day he handed it in to his teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On the front page was a large red F with a note that read, `See me after class.’

“The boy with the dream went to see the teacher after class and asked, `Why did I receive an F?’

“The teacher said, `This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you. You have no money. You come from an itinerant family. You have no resources. Owning a horse ranch requires a lot of money. You have to buy the land. You have to pay for the original breeding stock and later you’ll have to pay large stud fees. There’s no way you could ever do it.’ Then the teacher added, `If you will rewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will reconsider your grade.’

“The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He asked his father what he should do. His father said, `Look, son, you have to make up your own mind on this. However, I think it is a very important decision for you.’ “Finally, after sitting with it for a week, the boy turned in the same paper, making no changes at all.

He stated, “You can keep the F and I’ll keep my dream.”

Monty then turned to the assembled group and said, “I tell you this story because you are sitting in my 4,000-square-foot house in the middle of my 200-acre horse ranch. I still have that school paper framed over the fireplace.” He added, “The best part of the story is that two summers ago that same schoolteacher brought 30 kids to camp out on my ranch for a week.” When the teacher was leaving, he said, “Look, Monty, I can tell you this now. When I was your teacher, I was something of a dream stealer. During those years I stole a lot of kids’ dreams. Fortunately you had enough gumption not to give up on yours.”

“Don’t let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what.”
